Between the mid 1970s and about 1990 I travelled when I could around ireland visiting horse fairs and shooting the great people, the great animals and the great atmosphere that prevailed. While the horse fairs continue to this day (other than during the pandemic) tourists now greatly outnumber the animals and, along with yellow jackets and general health and safety restrictions the nature of the fairs has greatly changed. Most of these images, mainly from colour transparencies, have never been seen before. I hope you enjoy them - one caveat - it is quite possible that some of images, in particular those taken at Cahirmee and at Kilrush may have been mixed up. I'm very happy to hear of any corrections and and names which people want to contribute to flesh out the caption details. Prints of these images can be ordered in various sizes and qualities of finish including on archival permanent paper. Thanks in advance - Frank Miller
